ALECSO Initiative: Faculty Development in 22 Arab Countries
Date of Agreement Signing
The agreement was signed on October 26, 2022, under the patronage of His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the National Committee for Education, Culture, and Science, and with the support and follow-up of His Excellency Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Benyan, Minister of Education. The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and King Faisal University concluded a cooperation agreement to launch a professional development program for faculty members in 22 ALECSO member states. The program is implemented by the university as part of its social responsibility and academic expertise in this field.
Initiative Objectives
To highlight the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of training and in promoting the culture of continuous development among faculty members of ALECSO member states’ universities. The initiative aims to bridge skill gaps, keep pace with the latest developments in education, scientific research and innovation, community partnership, and entrepreneurship through training programs delivered by King Faisal University, represented by the Deanship of Development and Quality Assurance. The university also provides free seats for faculty members from ALECSO member states.
Implementation Mechanism
Providing 70 training seats for each program.
Programs are delivered virtually via the digital platform.
Live sessions are scheduled according to Saudi Arabia local time (12:30 – 3:00 PM).
Target Groups
1,000 beneficiaries from ALECSO member states during the academic year 1444 AH.
